Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God, which continues for the rest of our lives. It is the first step in response to God’s love and marks the entry of a person, adult or child, into the Christian community of faith.

In the baptism of a child, parents and godparents commit to travel on that journey with the child – encouraging them and supporting them.

If you would like to arrange a baptism at St Alban’s, Church, please come to a Sunday service and speak to one of the clergy. You will be given a baptism pack, including a form which should be returned to the parish office to book a date.

We have a Baptism preparation session on a Saturday morning for parents and godparents. This is a chance to reflect on your role as parents and godparents and gives an opportunity to explore your own faith – which must be secure if you are to help the child who is being Baptised. More information about baptism can be found on the Church of England website – Click here

We look forward to welcoming you.
